Why I Created StyLearn: A Personal Journey Toward Empowering Beauty Professionals

StyLearn wasn’t born in a boardroom or brainstorm session—it came from my own lived experience.

In 2024, I made a bold, unexpected pivot into the beauty industry. Like many others, I found myself in a place of transition, having moved on from a previous job and searching for a new path that could offer both freedom and financial stability. I wasn’t a professionally trained hairstylist at the time, but I was hungry to build something of my own. I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, and I believed that the beauty industry could offer a pathway to that independence. That belief proved true. I had enrolled in a single style training course to learn a high-demand hairstyle: Sisterlocks®. That one course changed everything. With just that single investment in education, I was able to launch a business, support myself financially, and step confidently into entrepreneurship.

That experience opened my eyes.

It made me realize how powerful—and transformative—style education can be. But, it also made me wonder how many others were missing out on this kind of opportunity.

The truth is, there’s a wealth of untapped potential in the beauty industry. But far too many people don’t realize just how viable and lucrative the beauty industry can be. It’s not a lack of talent holding people back; it’s a lack of knowledge about the powerful career paths that become available through style education.

That’s what inspired me to create StyLearn: a digital platform that shines a spotlight on those opportunities. StyLearn helps beauty professionals discover, access, and share training in high-demand styling techniques. It’s a place where creativity becomes currency—and where entrepreneurship begins with education.

Whether you’re new to the beauty industry or working to grow your business, I hope StyLearn becomes a resource and a reminder that your goals are within reach.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
